Step One - Sew your shoulder seams together and finish (refer to page 5, final details). Baste
your side gores beginning at your waist, one to each side of the front and
one to each side of the back.
Mark with chalk where you want to cut out your sideless portion.
Mark your hem.
There is ample evidence that some sideless surcotes had the side seam from thigh to hem open. I like this style because it gives a nice flash of skirt color when you walk.
